Shutter Island Trailer Analysis

After viewing the Shutter Island trailer many times, Propp's narrative comes in to play. The main focus of the trailer is on the main Character Leonardo DiCaprio is playing, saying that the hero may be damaged mentally, but you dont know if he comes out the hero or not due it being a trailer. Enticing the audience to come and view the film.
It shows slow clips with dreary music at the beginning of the trailer when they first enter the island implying there is not much going on, apart from the mysterious "67" patient that is supposedly at the mental asylum. To which the two federal marshalls begin to investigate.
Leonardo DiCaprio's character then becomes the main focal point of the trailer where he starts to get closer and closer to finding out the truth. The music begins to pick up speed with lots of different clips of the film shown, in my opinion, slow motion. Although, due to intense background music, the clips seem very tense making the audience feel intensified and wanting to know the ending of the film.
The final image of the trailer is a picture of the island turning into a inkblot image of the island, with the title of the film "Shutter Island" broadcasted in the centre of the inkblot image. The fact that Leonardo DiCaprio's quotes "You'll never leave this island" gives this sense of isolation and you can't get out of it leaving the audience wanting to know if he does infact leave the island.
